NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) To promote the upcoming tour, The Who and Live Nation have “specially designed” double-decker buses driving around New York, Los Angeles with fans able to win tickets by posting photos of them.
The Moving On! tour kicks off in Grand Rapids May 7. The band will be accompanied by a 52-piece orchestra at each stop and will play 29 shows in two tour legs. FAns can post photos of the buses on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MagicBusEntry and tag #LiveNation. The contest runs through Feb. 10. More information is available here.
This is the first Who tour with Live Nation after years with AEG, reflecting the retirement of longtime AEG promoter Larry Vallon.
“We go back so far with Larry,” Pete Townshend told Billboard. “The first big open-air stadium concert we did, in Anaheim, I think it was 1971 — we go back that far. So it’s a bit of a change with us.”
Townshend has already worked with Live Nation on other projects like his Classic Quadrophenia concerts.
“They’re much more proactive and they’re much more interested in throwing ideas out,” he said. “To be honest, I’m still adjusting to it, but it’s been good.”
