NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Streaming music service Spotify has reportedly settled a $1.6 billion lawsuit over copyright infringement with music publisher Wizen.

According to Music Business Worldwide, Spotify settled the year-long infringement suit after agreeing to pay Wixen an undisclosed sum.

Wixen brought suit against Spotify last December, claiming the company had streamed Wixen’s songs without obtaining licenses or compensating the publisher.

Artists affected included Neil Young, Tom Petty, and The Doors, according to Wixen.

Spotify’s attorneys have spent quite a bit of time in litigation this year over alleged copyright infringement. In May, Spotify paid more than $43 million to settle a class action suit from songwriters who accused the streaming service of failing to license or compensate rights-holders for streamed music.
