LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — EDM manager Moe Shalizi, whose client roster includes the popular masked producer/DJ Marshmello, announced that he’s leaving Red Light Management to launch his own firm The Shalizi Group.

According to Forbes, Shalizi will be joined by all ten of his current team, as well as his client roster, which includes Jauz, Slushii, Southside, Ookay, Ghastly, Sikdope and Marshmello.

“The business has grown significantly, and I’m just at a place where I’ve just felt like I kind of outgrew the situation I was in,” Shalizi told Forbes in an interview. “It just seemed like this was the year to do it.”

Shalizi helped to break Marshmello after discovering him online in 2015 and helped to create his image, including Marshmello’s now iconic mask. Now, Marshmello is featured on just about every major EDM lineup including a headlining billet on Coachella’s EDM tent this year.

The split with Red Light appears to have been amicable, and Red Light COO Bruce Eskowitz told Forbes: “We congratulate him on his success, and we look forward to working with Moe on other projects in the future. I wish him nothing but the best of luck. He is a great manager and person, and I can’t say enough good things about him and what he’s done and going to do in the future.”
