NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — With a heady blend of comedy and music, the Stand Up for Heroes benefit concert helped to raise $500,000 to help veterans and their families.
Now in its 12th year, the Stand Up For Heroes event featured Bruce Springsteen and Eric Church along with a host of stand-up comedians, including Seth Meyers, Jimmy Carr, Jim Gaffigan, and Jon Stewart, who all performed at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.
The event serves as a benefit for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, an organization founded by journalist Bob Woodruff and his wife, Lee after he was severely wounded while on assignment in Iraq.

Springsteen opened with “This Hard Land” and then performed “If I Should Fall Behind” with his wife and fellow E-Streeter Patti Scialfa before Eric Church joined him on stage for a performance of “Working On A Highway.”
Springsteen then closed out his set with “Dancing In The Dark.”
Springsteen has performed at the event since 2007, with only a brief hiatus last year.
The Stand Up for Heroes also serves as a kick off to the annual Carolines on Broadway’s New York Comedy Festival, which this year takes place from Nov. 5th to Nov. 11th.
