AUSTRALIA (CelebrityAccess) – Childish Gambino has cancelled his upcoming sold-out Australian tour after suffering a foot injury during a concert in Dallas, TX last month.
The rapper, who was due to perform shows in Perth (November 8), Melbourne (November 10) and Sydney’s Opera House Forecourt (November 14 and 15), in addition to headlining Canberra’s Spilt Milk Festival, said in a statement: “I’m not ready to put on 100% shows. Apologies to the fans. I will be back soon.”
According to a statement later issued by Live Nation, it “is working with the artist to try and reschedule the dates for a new time period”. The concert promoter also asked fans to “please stay tuned” for updates, which will be made available via LN’s website, Facebook and Twitter.
Following the announcement, Spilt Milk Festival organizers released their own statement expressing their disappointment at the cancellation and sayng: “An artist the calibre of Childish Gambino can never truly be replaced so close to event day, but we will be announcing an exciting lineup addition shortly.”
Spilt Milk Festival is scheduled to take place Saturday, November, 17, 2018.
