LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — For the second week in a row, Universal’s revival of the Halloween franchise took the top spot for weekend box office revenue, pulling in $32m in North America and $57.6m worldwide, according to comScore.
Halloween, which saw Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence reprise their roles from the 1978 horror cult classic, dipped 58% in its second weekend but has grossed over $126 million in just ten days.
In second place for the weekend was the musical A Star Is Born, which added a respectable $31.7M worldwide, bringing its global cume topping $253 million from 75 markets.
New films this week included Lionsgate’s release of Summit’s Hunter Killer, which broke into the top 5 in North America, where it earned just $6.7M.
The Jonah Hill comedy Mid90s also opened this weekend, generating just $3m in its North American debut.
In all, it’s been a pretty good month for worldwide grosses topping a record-breaking $785 million with October not even quite over yet.
