LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — A co-conservator for pop queen Britney Spears is asking for a raise.
According to The Blast, Lawyer Andrew Wallet, the singer’s co-conservator, has filed for a pay increase, citing Spears’ successful return to the public eye, and his success in keeping her away from drugs.
Documents obtained by The Blast indicate that Wallet is seeking $426,000 per year from Spears.
In making his bid for a pay hike, Wallet noted that when he started working for Spears, her estate had nearly exhausted its financial resources, “total chaos with tremendous liabilities.” But Wallet says that it is now worth an estimated $20 million.
Wallet also pointed to his success in keeping Spears sober and stated that he has personally intervened to keep her away from drugs while on tour.
“Declarant was greatly concerned at the planning stages for the ‘Circus’ Tour,” Wallet said describing the circumstances around Spears 2009 comeback tour. According to Wallet, he took steps to safeguard Spears from “the many hundreds of vendors, drivers, dancers, hair stylists, performers, etc. [that] could bring financial disaster to the tour by providing illegal substances to the Conservatee.”
Wallet’s raise request coincides with Spears’ announcement of her upcoming Domination residency at the MGM in Las Vegas.
Wallet, along with Spears’ father, were named co-conservators for her after she was hospitalized in 2008 for mental health issues.
