NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) Tauren Wells, former frontman for Royal Tailor now going solo, was the big winner logging in four trophies including new artist at the Dove Awards at David Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville Oct. 16.
Three awards went to worship pastor Cory Asbury for song of the year and worship song of the year for “Reckless Love” and album of the year for the album of the same name.
Colby Wedgeworth collected three Dove awards including for co-writing pop/contemporary recorded song of the year for “Old Church Choir.”

This year’s noise maker, Lauren Daigle, who just signed with Doug Morris’ 12Tone after her blowout album Look Up Child drew national attention and brought courtships from major labels, had a relatively quiet 2017 and was nominated only for pop/contemporary recorded song and, although she walked away empty handed, did perform.
