GREENVILLE, NC (CelebrityAccess) – The Avett Brothers announced that they will headline a concert next month to assist with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
The “Concert for Hurricane Florence Relief” benefit will take place at Minges Coliseum on the campus of Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
Along with the Avetts, Future Islands and Valient Thorr are also lined up to perform at the show.
All of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to ongoing relief efforts to assist those affected by the storm.
The band is made up of two brothers, Scott Avett (ECU Alumnus) and Seth Avett, who play the banjo and guitar respectively, and Bob Crawford who plays bass. The other members of the band include Joe Kwon on cello, Bonnie Avett Rini on piano and Mike Marsh on drums.
“We are honored by the opportunity to contribute to our friends and neighbors affected by Hurricane Florence. We hope this performance not only provides some financial relief for victims of the storm, but also is an occasion to celebrate the resilience of the people of North Carolina. We can’t wait to return to the eastern part of the state,” Seth Avett said, in announcing the band’s participation.
