RALEIGH, N.C. (CelebrityAccess) The band Balsam Range was the big winner at the International Bluegrass Music Awards in Raleigh, N.C., Sept. 27, grabbing the entertainer of the year award while band members Buddy Melton and Tim Surrett won male vocalist and bass player of the year, respectively.
The act Special Consensus landed album of the year and instrumental recorded performance. Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver got their eight award for vocal group of the year.
The Travelin’ McCourys took home the instrumental group of the year and Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers won song of the year for “If I’d Have Wrote That Song.”
As reported earlier, the awards show also included the induction of Ricky Skaggs, Tom T. & Dixie Hall, and Paul Williams into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
