SEATTLE (CelebrityAccess) The Seattle City Council’s Select Committee on Civic Arenas voted 7-0 today to approve the plans for the $700 million renovation of the city-owned KeyArena.
The committee approved the final transaction documents, which sets the stage for full council approval of the facility Sept. 24.
The privately funded redevelopment of the arena is spearheaded by the Oak View Group. The approval is one of the last hurdles necessary to bring the new version of the arena to fruition, bringing with it the hopes of a Seattle professional hockey team.
