(CelebrityAccess) — Perennial holiday favorites Trans-Siberian Orchestra are marking their 20th anniversary this year with a new (shocker) holiday tour.
‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve’ is slated for markets across North America, starting at the Resch Center in Green Bay on November 14th, and running through the end of the year when TSO performs at the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center in Milwaukee on Dec. 30th.
The tour marks the group’s 1999 made-for-TV movie showcasing their live performances. The movie featured Ossie Davis and Allie Sheridan and told the story of a runaway girl who seeks shelter in an abandoned theater on Christmas Eve. The movie offered a score by the TSO and guest performers including Michael Crawford and Jewel.
The updated edition of the story features a new stage design and incorporates elements from the movie.
“It’s hard to believe that 20 years ago, we had just seven shows,” Al Pitrelli, TSO’s music director and lead guitarist, told USA TODAY. “We were so happy that 10 to 11 thousand people came out to those shows and fell in love with Paul’s creation. Last year, with Paul’s family steering the ship, we realized that his dream will live beyond him, and that makes us all very proud, happy and thankful.”
This year marks the second time on the road for TSO since the ensemble’s founder Paul O’Neil passed in 2017.
For the tour, the TSO is partnering with Ticketmaster’s “Verified Fan” service to ensure that “our fans get the BEST tickets at the BEST price.”
