HUNTINGTON, Kentucky (CelebrityAccess) – SMG and the City of Huntington announced that Cindy Collins has been named general manager of the SMG-managed Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
Collins, who is a native of Huntington, served most recently as the general manager of Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center in Pikeville, Ky since 2014.
Prior to that, she spent 14 years as chief operations officer of the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland.
Collins was selected after a national search and will step into the role vacated by Rik Edgar, who was recently named as the General Manager of the Peoria Civic Center in Illinois.
“I recognize that I am following in a line of remarkable SMG leaders, each of whom made important and lasting contributions to the arena and to the City of Huntington. But, as the only General Manager that is a product of Huntington, I am not only prepared for the challenge, but eager to build on their successes and exceed expectations,” Collins said in a presser about her new gig.
Additionally, Kaleena Johnson, who has been serving as interim general manager at the arena during the nationwide search, was named to the position of assistant general manager.
