HENDERSON, NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) After the violent shooting at a Las Vegas music festival a few months ago, concert promoter James P. Voytko of Black Shoe Production decided to promote a sense of peace and safety with a series of festival-style concerts.
The next show, which is open to all ages, will take place from noon to midnight Feb. 10th at Maggie’s on the River, 500 Newell St., Watertown.
“This is our fourth ‘anti-violence and stop the hate’ show,” says Voytko. “Music always brings people together…..We are the only show of this kind and I believe it is important to spread awareness and love for other people. We need to stop the violence and the hate that is going around nowadays.”
Black Shoe Production and all of the performers slated for the concert are focused on making change and creating a world of positivity.
This show will feature the Moonshine River Band, Mykel Quince Myrick, Less Than Hate, My Manic Mind, Honey Hunter, Marie Newman, Extended Play, Showing Signs, Ryan Hardy, the Northmen, Out Chasing Lions, Lake Effect Mud, Hell On the Rise, Crazy Neighbours, the List, Ransom, Caleb Whiting, Fight for Rome, Chris LaVancha Music, Supa Satty, John Derby, Glen Street and Eddie Cito.
“There will be two stages and as soon as one band ends, the next will begin. It is 24 bands in 12 hours,” he said.
Robert Drummond, former Syracuse University running back and Philadelphia Eagles player, will be on hand to talk about his own battles with erasing hatred. The Victims Assistance Center also will answer questions and spread awareness.
“I produce shows; these people are my people,” says Voytko. “The biggest thing is to go to events, but be aware. Don’t stop going to shows. Just be aware of your surroundings.”
