(CelebrityAccess) – Veteran promotion and marketing executive, Joel Klaiman, is leaving Columbia Records.
Klaiman, who joined the label in 2012 and most recently served as executive VP and GM, oversaw the label’s marketing, digital marketing, promotion, publicity, branding, sync licensing, video production and content development departments.
Commenting on his departure, Klaiman said: “I am leaving my role after an incredible six-year run at Columbia Records. I want to thank [Sony Music CEO] Rob Stringer for the opportunity and support. Thank you to [Columbia Chairman/CEO] Ron Perry. I wish continued success to him and the Columbia team. I am excited for my next chapter.”
“Joel has been an integral and key part of the success of Columbia over the past 6 years,” said Stringer. “He is a great executive and I know he will succeed in his next endeavor!”
Added Perry: “I would like to thank Joel for his contributions to the Columbia team. I wish him continued success in his next phase.”
Among the artists Klaiman worked with during his stint at Columbia: Adele, One Direction, Beyonce, David Bowie, Daft Punk, John Legend, The Chainsmokers, Hozier, HAIM, Maxwell and K-Pop giants BTS.
Klaiman has also held executive positions with Republic Records, Elektra, Sony’s 550 imprint, and Epic Records.
