NEW YORK, NY — Primary and secondary ticketing service SeatGeek announced the hiring of James McClure as the company’s first ever General Manager International.
McClure will be based out of SeatGeek’s London office and will have oversight of fostering growth for the company, with a focus on international expansion, the company said.
McClure comes to SeatGeek from another tech company, Airbnb where he served as GM of their European operation.
Prior to Airbnb, McClure spent eight years at Google in London, Sydney, and Singapore; most recently running their APAC Emerging Markets business.
Originally a New York-based ticketing company SeatGeek has expanded rapidly in the past year after it acquired the Israeli-based company TopTix. Since then, SeatGeek has established itself in the UK and European markets.
“SeatGeek has incredible momentum in Europe, and I’m looking forward to accelerating that success,” said McClure. “Our partners and prospects are quickly seeing the best-in-class technology of SeatGeek Enterprise, and we look forward to investing more in the region moving forward.”
