WASHINGTON, D.C. (CelebrityAccess) Cher, Reba McEntire, jazz legend Wayne Shorter and composer Phillip Glass are this year’s recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors.
The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., is also bestowing a special honor for “groundbreaking work” to the four co-creators of the “Hamilton” Broadway musical for its unique blend of hip-hop and history.
The awards show is expected to take place at the Washington Kennedy Center Dec. 2.
The award honors people who have influenced American culture through the arts and past recipients have included everyone from Bob Hope to Led Zeppelin.
