(CelebrityAccess) Nancy Sinatra Sr., 101, the first wife of Frank Sinatra, died Friday, according to her daughter, the singer Nancy Sinatra.
“My mother passed away peacefully tonight,” Sinatra tweeted. “She was a blessing and the light of my life. Godspeed, Momma. Thank you for everything.”
Nancy Barbato dated Frank Sinatra when they were in the teens and married in 1939 at a church in New Jersey. They lived in an apartment in Jersey City with Nancy working as a secretary while Frank worked as a singing waiter.

The couple had three children. The marriage fell apart as Frank Sinatra’s career began to skyrocket, marked by several affairs, include with Ava Gardner, that made headlines in gossip magazines. They divorced in 1951. Sinatra married Gardner within days of signing the divorce papers.
Frank Sinatra died in 1998. Their son Frank Sinatra Jr. died of cardiac arrest in 2016. Frank Sinatra Jr. had his own musical career, and once was famously kidnapped.
Nancy Sinatra, known for “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,” told CNN her mom never remarried and devoted her life to charity and her family.
