LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Green Day’s 2004 hit “American Idiot” is enjoying a resurgence on the pop charts in the UK ahead of the visit of controversial American president Donald Trump to the island kingdom.

Currently, the track is #18 on the Official Singles Chart, just behind Drake’s “Nonstop” and, perhaps appropriately, just ahead of “Sad” by the late rapper XXXTentacion.

The track’s chart movement is being driven by a social media campaign over the last couple of weeks in response to the planned visit of President Trump, who is due to arrive in the UK this Friday.

The campaign asks its supporters to download “American Idiot” between Friday, July 6, and Friday, July 13, to push the single to #1 on the Official Chart.

The “Get American Idiot to No.1 for Trump’s UK Visit” Facebook page is part of a spectrum of protests that also includes plans to fly a giant orange baby balloon over London during the President’s state visit.

Trump had previously planned to visit the UK in April but backed out after British Prime Minister Theresa May told him that she was unable to keep protestors from the streets.
