LOUISVILLE, Ky (CelebrityAccess) — Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow announced plans to release her final album in 2019.
Crow, who is now 56, revealed her plans in an interview on the “Kyle Meredith with …” podcast.
“It’s a very collaborative record with people I’ve asked to collaborate with me, people I’ve loved and have worked with and who have been heroes of mine forever,” Crow 91.9 WFPK’s Kyle Meredith.
According to Crow, her fellow collaborators on the album include luminaries such as Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Keith Richards, Joe Walsh and, perhaps mysteriously, the late Johnny Cash.
While this will be Crow’s final album, it doesn’t’ mean she’s retiring from recording or performing but instead, marks a transition towards focusing on the release of singles instead of long-form LPs.
“Albums as an art form are a little bit of a dying art form,” Crow told Meredith. “People are more interested in singles. I’ve made the decision in my head that the record that comes out next year will be my last full album, and I’ll just start putting songs out.”
Crow’s tenth studio album “Be Myself” was released last year.
