WARSAW, Poland (CelebrityAccess) — Jay Z and Beyoncé had to be rescued from an elevated platform after a piece of their complex stage equipment appeared to malfunction during their concert at Warsaw’s National Arena on Sunday night.
Fan-captured videos of the concert show Bey and Jay in the final moments of their performance, closing with the senior prom staple of ‘Young Forever’ from atop a section of stage that had been raised approximately 20 feet over the main stage.
“Please give it up for the dancers, and please give it up for the crew and everyone that puts this thing together,” Beyoncé told the audience from atop the platform after concluding the song.
At the same time members of the stage crew can be seen erecting an aluminum extension ladder on the side of the platform to help the two performers down.
Other fan-captured videos show Beyoncé gamely trying to negotitate the ladder in her stage costume, which included stilleto-heeled boots.
Jay-Z and Beyonce are currently on the road in Europe with their “On The Run II” tour. Their next scheduled performance is set for Tuesday, July 3rd at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne.
The floating stage had a malfunction and got stuck at the end of the show so Beyoncé had to use an emergency ladder in order to leave. #OTRII #Warsawhttps://t.co/0SZOq3BsLe pic.twitter.com/StBMX8xxN4
