MINNEAPOLIS, (CelebrityAccess) — The Creative Artists Agency announced that Josh Lindgren has joined the company’s touring department as an agent with a focus on expanding CAA’s portfolio of podcasters.
Lindgren, who will be based in Minneapolis, makes the jump to CAA from the increasingly thin Billions, where he repped a host of Podcasters, including the producers of popular shows such as Stuff You Should Know, The Last Podcast on the Left, Radiotopia Live, FiveThirtyEight Politics, Hello from the Magic Tavern, The Flop House, and Radio Ambulante.
CAA’s current roster of Podcasters includes the creators My Brother, My Brother and Me, The Adventure Zone, Waking Up with Sam Harris, and Pod Save the People, among many others.
The agency also represents podcast networks, including Gimlet Media and The Ringer Podcast Network, which have grown into multi-platform media companies.
While Podcasts used to be something of a niche market, the sector has boomed in recent years. According to the most recent study by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers, US podcast advertising revenue is expected to grow more than 110% by 2020, to $659.0 million.
