LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper Lil Wayne has reportedly reached a settlement in his ongoing legal battle with his former label and its head Bryan “Birdman” Williams.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Wayne’s attorney, Howard King, filed a notice with the court on May 23 that all sides are ready to dismiss the lawsuit, indicating a settlemt had been reached.

A source at Universal told The Blast that the label covered the cost of the settlement, and stated that the amount was “well over $10 million.” However, Karen Civil, who has served as a social media publicist for Wayne in the past, reportedly disputed the valuation of the settlement in a now apparently removed tweet.

The lawsuit has been percolating since 2015 when Wayne tool Cash Money to court seeking to void his record deal with the label. He accused of owing him millions in royalties, as well as $8 million advance for his album “Tha Carter V,” and a $2 million dollar he alleged to be due to him after completing the record.

Wayne also accused Cash Money of mismanaging both Drake and Nicki Minaj, who defected with Wayne when he left.

According to The Blast, one of the incentives for Universal to underwrite the settlement was the release of “Tha Carter V” via Universal, as well as being able to recoup profits from Drake and Minaj going forward.
