Fred Casimir Named EVP Global Recordings At BMG

BERLIN (CelebrityAccess) — BMG has upped veteran label exec Fred Casimir to the lofty post of EVP Global Recordings for the label giant.

Casimir will be tasked with driving expansion for the company’s recorded music operation and takes on the new job in addition to his existing role of President Continental Europe which he has held since January 2016.

Casimir first joined the new BMG in 2009 from sister Bertelsmann company FremantleMedia where he led its music-related businesses in Europe, including licensing, artist projects and music publishing.

While at BMG, he’s helped to build out its European infrastructure and in developing their recorded music operations, including – from the initial catalogue licensed from Sony BMG and the acquisition of Union Square Music in the UK to the development of the company’s signature revenue share deals with artists.

Forthcoming frontline releases from BMG include albums from Lenny Kravitz, Alice In Chains, The Prodigy, Avril Lavigne, Dido, Lil Dicky, Marianne Faithfull and Boy George & Culture Club.
