MANCHESTER (CelebrityAccess) March 22 marks the one-year anniversary of the bombing near the Manchester Arena after an Ariana Grande concert, and the England city is remembering the event with several events.
U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, were expected to attend a memorial service at the city’s cathedral alongside families of the victims, the injured, emergency services and local and national leaders, according to Manchester Evening News. The cathedral service was expected to be shown on a big screen in the city as well as broadcast to York, Liverpool, Glasgow and other cities.
Later in the day, more than 3,000 singers from local choirs were expected to perform in the city’s Albert Square. Performing at the event was the Manchester Survivors Choir, composed of those who attended the May 22, 2o17, concert. Also performing was expected to be a local school choir that performed onstage with Ariana Grande at the One Love concert, which took place in July and raised money for victims of the bombing.

A minute of silence was held in the city approximately an hour ago at 2:30 p.m.
Bells are expected to ring in the city in approximately seven hours after this post, at 10:31 p.m, the exact time of the bombing.
From May 22 to 26, song lyrics are expected to be projected onto ST. Ann’s Church, St. Ann’s Square and the New Cathedral street starting at dusk, according to Manchester Evening News. Families of those affected by the bombing and members of the public have been asked to submit a song lyric of significant meaning.
