(CelebrityAccess) Mother’s Day was marked with at least two cool performances from the night before: The exciting return of Meek Mill and and a surprising performance by Dave Grohl’s 12-year-old daughter during a benefit performance.
Mill made a surprise appearance at Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival, his first appearance since he was released from prison in April.
“It feels good to be back and free in front of the motherfucking people,” Meek Mill told the crowd during his 20-minute set, according to Rolling Stone. “Thank you to everybody that supported me. They tried to take my freedom. They tried to crush my dreams. But now we’re in Miami glowing the fuck up. Let’s get it!”
DJ Khaled set up the performance by telling the crowd they were about to see history.
“Some people are chosen to go through storms, to overcome storms, to help other people in situations,” Khaled said. “Some people have dreams, some people have nightmares, some people just got to go through a lot of shit. But the key is to overcome. It’s about overcoming, moving forward, and representing love.”
Meanwhile, at a concert in Oakland, Calif., for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Grohl brought his daughters Violet and Harper onstage to sing and play drums, respectively, during various performances. However, it was Violet’s turn at the mic for Adele’s “When We Were Young” that really turned heads. Again, she’s 12 years old.
