LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — The Dixie Chicks have signed a new management deal with Ian Montone and Rick Yorn at Monotone/LBI Entertainment.
The Dixie Chicks, whose members include Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, and Martie Maguire, had been shopping for a new management team after their longtime manager Simon Renshaw, announced that he was retiring after 43 years in the music biz. Renshaw managed the Chicks since 1995.
According to Variety, the Dixie Chicks had met with several high profile music managers in recent weeks, including Scooter Braun, before settling on Montone.
The Dixie Chicks, who famously challenged country music orthodoxy when they called out George W. Bush during a concert in London in 2003, have been largely quiet for the past decade.
Their most recent studio album “Taking the Long Way” produced three country #1 hits but they have yet to announce plans for a new studio album. They have hinted at it though, with Natalie Maines teasing via social media that fans could expect new material “soon.”
As well, their 2016-17 comeback tour, the group’s first major run in more than a decade, proved to be a hit, grossing more than $56,153,563 over the course of 80 dates.
