CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess) In light of the BBC documentary “R Kelly: Sex, Girls and Videotapes,” two prominent women in his camp, his attorney and exec assistant, have resigned their roles, according to the BBC.
The BBC Three documentary detailed sexual allegations toward Kelly and, since it aired, executive assistant Diana Copeland (identified as his publicist by Rolling Stone) has resigned as well as his entertainment lawyer, Linda Mensch, who worked for him for almost five years, the BBC said.
Allegations recently arose that the R&B singer “knowingly and intentionally infected” a 19-year old woman with an STD.
Copeland was Kelly’s assistant on projects like the “Trapped IN The Closet” R&B opera, starring Kelly, and his The Light Up Tour in 2007. Mensch, who was named Chicago’s “Music Lawyer of the Year” three times and defended Kelly last year after a report of a “sex cult,” has told BBC Three she “no longer represented Mr. Kelly or his entities.”
Former girlfriend Kitti Jones has claimed the Kelly groomed a girls since the age of 14 to be a sex slave and that she was part of a “sex dungeon” where she was forced to have sex with him and other on more than 10 occasions.
“I saw that this girl was dressed like me, that she was saying the things I’d say, and her mannerisms were like mine,” Jones told the BBC. “That’s when it clicked in my head that he had been grooming me to become one of his pets, too. He calls them his pets.”
