LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Latitude, TRNSMT, and Secret Garden Party Founder Freddie Fellowes were among the winners at the 2017 UK Festival Awards.
Fellowes was recognized with an Outstanding Contribution to Festivals Award awards for his efforts in the world of the boutique festival market.
“I feel very humbled by this, and to tell the honest truth, this has been not only an honor and a privilege but also an utter blast to have been a part of,” said Fellowes while accepting his award. “Every year so many people gave so much to make this party and in return got so much back from it. It was beautiful. I’m glad for all of those people that it’s been recognized.”
Other winners on the night included Manchester-based promoter SJM Concerts, the co-owner of the T In the Park, picked up the award for Promoter of the Year.
Latitude was named Best Major Festival for 2017, while TRNSMT claimed the award for Best New Festival. DHP Family’s multi-city Dot To Dot was recognized as the Best Festival For Emerging Talent for 2017.
First established in 2004, the awards are voted for by the public. This year’s awards gala moved from its former home at the Roundhouse to the Troxy in East London, with comedian Rufus Hound serving as the master of ceremonies for the event.
