LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Actor and musician Corey Feldman is recovering in the hospital after he claimed he was stabbed in the stomach by an unknown assailant on Tuesday evening.

Feldman took to Twitter on Tuesday night to claim that he and his security guard were sitting in their car in Los Angeles on Tuesday when they were approached by a trio of unknown men. Feldman claims the men distracted his guard while a fourth man in a car pulled up and attacked Feldman, stabbing him with an unknown object.

In a subsequent tweet, Feldman reported that the police were investigating the incident as an attempted homicide.

However, the LAPD is singing a different tune. LAPD officer Luis Garcia told Fox News that Feldman appeared to be attacked by an unidentified man who made a stabbing motion towards Feldman’s stomach, after which Feldman drove himself to the hospital. Investigators said the were unable to locate any stab wounds on the former child star.

“Upon the investigation [it was] determined there were no lacerations to his abdomen,” Garcia told Fox News. Garcia also said Feldman was unable to provide a description of his alleged attacker or the weapon used in the alleged assault.

Feldman later alleged that he believed the attack was perpetrated by a group known as ‘The Wolfpack’ which Feldman claims have been harassing him on social media in connection to his campaign against pedophiles in the entertainment industry.

Feldman has long maintained that while he was a child actor in the 1980s, he was victimized by powerful people in the entertainment industry. During an appearance on Dr. Phil in November, Feldman accused his former assistant Jon Grissom of one of his abusers. He later told NBC’s Megyn Kelly that Marty Weiss, a former child talent manager who was convicted of child molestation in 2012.

However, after investigating Feldman’s claims, the LAPD declined to file charges.

Late last year, Feldman started a crowd-funding campaign to pay for security, suggesting that he felt his life was in danger due to his campaign against Hollywood child predators.

“Ever since I discussed the fact that I have this plan, my life has turned to utter chaos,” Feldman said in October. “I’ve been silenced my whole life, but just over the past few days since I made that announcement, I’ve been arrested, I had a near-death experience last night where I felt like I was almost going to be killed. Two trucks came speeding at me at the same time on a crosswalk.”

Feldman is best known for roles in a series of successful films in the 1980s, including Gremlins (19484, The Goonies, (1985), Stand By Me (1986) and the Lost Boys (1987). In more recent years, he has been a reality television star and fronted Cory’s Angels, a lingerie-clad rock band.
