MIAMI (CelebrityAccess) Romeo Santos, aka “The King of Bachata” is suing heavyweight former manager Angelo Medina for nearly half-a-million dollars, accusing Medina of and other representatives stole $481,146 during his Vol. 2 World Tour in 2015.

Santos filed suit against Angelo Medina Mercado and his company Publimagen de Asesores Inc. March 26 to recover the estimated loss plus interest, according to Miami’s El Nuevo Herald. Medina, who managed Santos since 2010, handled tour routing and negotiated booking agreements, according to the lawsuit. However, allegedly the traditional 10 percent agreement was overstepped.

Santos claims that Medina was to send $481,146 to Sony Music Entertainment for fees in 11 North American cities for concerts between June 10 and July 12 but, “Although the defendants received the fess earned by Santos in connection with the … concerts, in violation of the parties’ agreement, the defendants have not forwarded any payment to Sony as Santos indicated and ordered,” the lawsuit reportedly claims.

Medina has represented Ricky Martin, Maná, and Draco Rosa, among others. Martin and Medina parted ways contentiously, with Martin suing the manager in 2004 to recover $2.5 million for unearned commissions, breach of contract and fiduciary duties. Medina countersued for $63.5 million claiming breach of contract and unjust enrichment. The suits were settled confidentially that October.

Medina and Maná split amicably in 2015 after a decade together.
