LONDON (CelebrityAccess) Lorna Luft, daughter of Judy Garland, collapsed backstage at a London concert March 9 and is undergoing tests in a London hospital following a diagnosis of a brain tumor.
Singer representative Victoria Varela told the Guardian that the 65-year-old Luft collapsed following a concert at Pizza Express Jazz Club and was rushed to a hospital by her husband, Colin Freeman, where an initial diagnosis revealed a brain tumor. Luft’s husband had been concerned about her forgetting lyrics and a monologue, Varela said. Luft, the daughter of producer Sidney Luft, wass scheduled to play two more concerts at the cabaret club.
Luft made her singing debut as a child on “The Judy Garland Show” and had television and movie roles in “Grease 2,” “Where The Boys Are” and “Murder, She Wrote,” among others. Stage appearances include “Guys and Dolls,” “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” and “They’re Playing Our Song.”
Luft is in remission from breast cancer, which she has been battling for six years, according to Varela.
