LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — AEG and their Goldenvoice subsidiary have taken over the Los Angeles-based FYF Fest and is moving ahead full steam, following sexual misconduct allegations against festival founder Sean Carlson.
According to a report in Billboard, AEG & Goldenvoice invoked a buyout clause in their six-year-old agreement with Carlson and purchased his 50 percent stake in the festival.
The multi-day, multi-format festival will now be booked by Goldenvoice’s Jennifer Yacoubian. Yacoubian has been on the Goldenvoice team since 2009 and also handled bookings for the Shrine Auditorium as well as Goldenvoice’s Splash House series in Palm Springs
Carlson, who founded the festival in 2004, became enmeshed in the #metoo movement in November, when Spin magazine published allegations against him, including from a former freelance photographer who claims Carlson groped her in a hot tub. Spin reported that Carlson’s behavior was an “open secret” in the Los Angeles music community.
Carlson has since conceded that some of the incidents were true, while others contained “serious misstatements and omissions.”
