LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — YouTube announced a partnership with Live Nation’s Ticketmaster division that will see the popular video-sharing service providing fans with to information about tour dates, and access to concert tickets directly from YouTube video pages.
Starting Nov. 14th, YouTube will feature hundreds of artist’s upcoming U.S. tour dates listed below videos with links to acquire tickets for those dates from Ticketmaster.
YouTube says they will be rolling the feature out to all artists who have Ticketmaster shows in North America with future plans to expand the program globally.
The move follows a similar arrangement YouTube struck last year with Spotify, which has grown to become the dominant player in the streaming music business and as that company works to improve its fan engagement tools for artists.
“At YouTube, we understand the importance of helping artists find ways to build deeper connections with their fans — the ones who not only watch and listen to videos but are also willing to pay to see live performances. And, with live concerts becoming a bigger driver of revenue for artists, we want to help artists reach those fans, keep them updated about upcoming shows, and sell more tickets,” a rep for YouTube said in announcing the deal.
