LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — English singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri has dropped out of her upcoming North American tour supporting Remi Wolf, citing the high cost of touring.
In a post shared on her social media, Chinouriri said:
I’m deeply saddened to announce that I have to withdraw from the Remi Wolf Tour and several festivals. This year, I have invested all my savings and earnings into my shows, styling and band to be able to tour. While my debut album opened many amazing opportunities, the financial strain of touring has become too much.
Despite my best efforts to secure funding for this incredible opportunity, it hasn’t been possible. This is the tough reality of the music industry, whether you’re signed or independent.
I’ve explored every possible option to make this work because I adore Remi and her fanbase, and I was so excited to come to the States. However, I cannot justify the financial risk it would entail.
Thank you for your understanding and support, it means everything to me. I will continue to work hadm, and I can’t wait to see you all on the November tour. To my U.S. darlings, I will be back as soon as I can.
The cancellation impacted multiple Remi Wolf shows, starting with the tour opener at the Santa Barbara Bowl on September 10.
Additionally, Chinouriri dropped out of several scheduled festival dates, including the All Things Go festival in Columbia MD on September 28th, and Austin City Limits on October 13th.
Wolf acknowledged the change in the lineup for her tour, re-sharing Chinouriri’s statement and announcing that up-and-coming folk-pop star Slimdan will step in on multiple dates.
