LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Broadcaster CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced that the American Music Awards won’t take place in 2024 and will be replaced this year by a two-hour special broadcast marking the venerable award show’s 50th anniversary.
Set for October 6th and airing live on CBS, the show will feature a raft of “iconic moments” and performances from across the award gala’s 50-year history. The anniversary special will also feature new performances, artist interviews, and exclusive never-before-seen footage from DCP’s archive.
The show will air concurrently on both coasts, starting at 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/5:00-7:00 PM PT on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+, as well as on-demand for Paramount+ essential subscribers.
Additionally, DCP and CBS announced that the American Music Awards will return in 2025, taking place for the first time since 2022.
