NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – Universal Attractions Agency (UAA) is thrilled to announce that Afropop star Yemi Alade has signed exclusively with the agency. Jay Wright of UAA will serve as her Responsible Agent.
Alade gained recognition in 2013 with the R&B-inspired track “Bamboo,” which quickly gained popularity across Eastern and Southern Africa, including in Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
Alade’s breakthrough in the North American music scene was pivotal in her career. Her hit single “Johnny” not only amassed a staggering 163 million views on YouTube but also made her the first Afropop artist to cross the 100 million view threshold. This achievement propelled her into the mainstream, earning her recognition by MTV and BET.
In 2019, Alade continued her ascension to fame by appearing on Beyoncé’s song “Don’t Jealous Me” from The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack. Later that year, she released her fourth studio album, Woman of Steel, which featured collaborations with Rick Ross, Angelique Kidjo, and Funke Akindele.
Alade is set to release her next album, Rebel Queen, on June 28. For more details about Yemi Alade and the upcoming album, visit her official website.
