LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess)—Position Music President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tyler Bacon and Partner and Head of A&R Mark Chipello have announced Samantha Sklar’s promotion to Vice President (VP) of A&R at Position Music.
Sklar’s most recent notable success is marked with the signing of breakout songwriter Jack LaFrantz, who co-wrote Benson Boone’s hit single “Beautiful Things.” The single recently hit No. 1 at both Top 40 and Hot AC, No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, is on its seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, and is currently 2024’s most streamed song on Spotify, with over 568M+ streams. LaFrantz co-wrote ten out of fourteen tracks on Boone’s debut LP Fireworks & Rollerblades, including singles “Slow It Down” and “Cry,” which currently sit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sklar was listed as a “Favorite Publishing and Record Label Executive” by the artist trade group 100 Percenters in 2021. She joined Position Music in August 2022 and has been integral in helping to build out the frontline pop publishing roster. In her first few months, she signed producer/writer Dru “Falconry” DeCaro amid his success with platinum-certified “Numb Little Bug” by Em Beihold. The song reached No. 1 at Hot AC and entered the top 10 on Top 40 radio, peaking at No. 6. She has since brought in several other in-demand songwriters and producers, including Joe Kearns, Zach Skelton, John “Feldy” Feldmann, Alex “Abomb” Fernandez, among others to be announced.
