BERLIN, DE (CelebrityAccess) – Platinum-selling, multi-Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and BRIT award-winning band Crowded House has officially secured a global recordings deal with BMG for their highly anticipated eighth studio album, Gravity Stairs. The first single from the album, the uplifting “Oh Hi,” was released last Thursday.

Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Neil Finn of Crowded House stated, “We’re delighted to work with the good people at BMG who we already know love music and hold us in high regard. It feels like a new beginning.”

Heath Johns, BMG President for Australia, New Zealand, and South-East Asia, said: “Few artists from this region have enjoyed the global success of Crowded House. Beyond the sales, beyond the streams, Crowded House songs have reached iconic status across generations. Gravity Stairs features some of the best work the band has ever produced, and we can’t wait to share this incredible album with the world.”

Crowded House boasts an impressive track record, having sold over 15 million records worldwide and garnered numerous awards, including 13 ARIA Awards, eight APRA Awards, and a BRIT Award. They have also been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and have accumulated billions of streams. The band’s self-titled debut album, released in 1986, is certified multi-platinum in Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Canada, and Silver in the UK. Their latest album, Dreamers Are Waiting (2021), marked their return after an eleven-year hiatus, winning the ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album and leading to an extensive world tour.

Crowded House now joins BMG’s label roster, which includes a diverse range of talents such as Chet Faker, Daniel Johns, Kylie Minogue, Rita Ora, Jennifer Lopez, and Louis Tomlinson, making it a powerhouse platform for musicians worldwide.
