R&B Icon Frankie Beverly Teams Up With Maze For His Farewell Tour

ATLANTA (CelebrityAccess) — R&B icon Frankie Beverly announced plans for his final, farewell tour with his longtime collaborators, the funk band Maze.

Beverly’s “I Wanna Thank You Farewell Tour” kicks off at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on March 22nd and will be followed by an afterparty for Beverly and Maze with the details to be announced in the coming weeks. The tour will be produced by the Black Promoters Collective (BPC), a coalition representing six of the nation’s top independent concert promotion and event production companies.

Beverly and Maze are slated to wrap the tour on July 6th after a performance at the Dell Center in Philadelphia where Beverly will attend a street renaming ceremony in the city where he and his group (originally called Raw Soul) launched musical careers.

The tour will be produced by the Black Promoters Collective (BPC), a coalition representing six of the nation’s top independent concert promotion and event production companies.

The tour will is billed as the final road trip for Beverly, who announced plans to retire later this year after a career that spans more than 5 decades.

Following his retirement, Maze will continue to tour as Maze Honoring Frankie Beverly, with Tony Lindsay stepping into the vocalist role.
