NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) – Renowned seven-time Grammy Award winner Kacey Musgraves is set to captivate fans once again with her highly anticipated fifth studio album, Deeper Well, slated for release on March 15 under the Interscope/MCA Nashville labels. Collaborating with her longtime creative partners, Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, Musgraves has an album that draws inspiration from the vibrant energy of Greenwich Village in NYC.
Musgraves shared, “I was seeking some different environmental energy, and Electric Lady has the best mojo. Great ghosts.” The album has 14 tracks, each a testament to Musgraves’ insightful observations of life’s subtle moments. Her lyrics serve as a profound lens, magnifying the often-overlooked aspects of life and turning them into songs that resonate deeply with listeners.
Deeper Well includes a mix of self-penned tracks in collaboration with Fitchuk and Tashian. Noteworthy is the beautifully contemplative track “The Architect,” co-written with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. The title track, “Deeper Well,” has already been released, accompanied by a visually captivating video directed by Hannah Lux Davis.
In the almost folky title track, Musgraves takes stock of her life and priorities. It delves into the things that fuel and deplete her, revealing the traces left on the path to empowerment. Musgraves shared her thoughts, stating, “Sometimes you reach a crossroads. Winds change direction. What you once felt drawn to doesn’t hold the same allure. Deeper Well follows Musgraves’ 2021 album star-crossed, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Albums Sales chart, earning widespread critical acclaim. The preceding album, Golden Hour in 2018, marked a historic moment for Musgraves as she became the third artist ever to clinch Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, and Academy of Country Music Awards.
In 2023, Musgraves achieved her first No. 1 entry on the Hot 100 chart with “I Remember Everything,” a duet with Zach Bryan. The track’s monumental success saw it become the first country music duet in 40 years to achieve this feat since Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers‘ “Islands in the Stream” in 1983. The recent Grammy Awards saw “I Remember Everything” securing the Best Country Song by a Duo or Group accolade.
