TENNESSEE (CelebrityAccess) – Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Darius Rucker found himself in a legal predicament with his recent arrest on three misdemeanor charges in Williamson County, TN, on Thursday (February 1). The 57-year-old artist, recognized for his solo country hits such as “Wagon Wheel” and “Alright” and earlier successes with Hootie and the Blowfish, including “Hold My Hand,” is reportedly fully cooperating with authorities, as stated by his attorney, Mark Puryear, in a release to Billboard.

The charges against Rucker are two misdemeanor drug offenses, specifically simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance, according to information from TMZ. Simple possession/casual exchange typically means someone has been found with a small amount of drugs and only drugs — with no paraphernalia (straws, scale, etc.) in his possession.
Additionally, he faces a third misdemeanor charge for violating the state’s vehicle registration law, related to expired tags on his vehicle. Following his arrest around 10 am PT on Thursday, Rucker was released approximately an hour later on a $10,500 bond.
