Miami, FL (January 18, 2024) – Organizers for Montreux Jazz Festival announced a host of new artists who join the lineup for the festival brand’s debut at The Hangar in Coconut Grove, Florida from March 1st through March 3rd, 2024.

A diverse array of top-tier artists has been confirmed for the inaugural event, expanding on the already announced lineup. Among the newly announced performers are Seu Jorge, renowned Brazilian pop and samba icon; Israel Houghton, a powerhouse in the gospel genre; Cory Henry, a stalwart in R&B and gospel music; Cécile McLorin Salvant, a venerable jazz vocalist; The Wailers, pioneers of reggae music; Rogét Chahayed, an acclaimed hip-hop producer; Justin Kauflin, a critically acclaimed jazz pianist; Cimafunk, an innovative Afro-Cuban funk artist; noted Brazilian singer Lia de Itamaracá,; Miami-based alt-pop artist Emily Estefan; Adrian Cota, an emerging producer, and drummer; and Mathis Picard, a heralded pianist, and composer.

The headlining acts for the three-day extravaganza include Jon Batiste, co-owner of the festival and a multi-talented artist known for his work as the leader of Stephen Colbert’s house band and as co-composer of the Oscar-winning film “Soul.” Joining Batiste on stage will be Grammy-winning artists Israel Houghton and Cécile McLorin Salvant, along with Lia de Itamaracá, making her U.S. debut.

Commenting on the event, Jon Batiste expressed his excitement, stating, “The Montreux Jazz Festival is a truly magical experience for artists and music lovers of all kinds. I’m honored to play a part in bringing this experience across the ocean to Miami and challenging the borders of musical genres. It’s going to be an unforgettable three days.”

Mathieu Jaton, CEO of Montreux Jazz Festival, emphasized Miami’s cultural vibrancy as a fitting backdrop for the diverse musical offerings of the festival. “As a city of cultural connection, Miami naturally lends itself to the musical diversity that Montreux has become synonymous with,” said Jaton. “We believe that the waterfront location and the artists performing in this first edition are a true reflection of the original Montreux Jazz Festival experience.”

The Montreux Jazz Festival Miami aims to recreate the intimate atmosphere of its Swiss counterpart, with The Hangar serving as the venue for performances. In addition to musical performances, the festival will feature masterclasses and jam sessions, providing opportunities for interaction and collaboration among musicians. Attendees can also enjoy curated dining options from Miami’s top restaurants and a pop-up vinyl listening bar, Dante’s HiFi.
