MEXICO CITY (CelebrityAccess) — Universal Music announced the promotion of Alfredo Delgadillo to oversee the label group’s regional office in Mexico, effective immediately.
In his new role, Delgadillo, who is based in Mexico City, will report directly to Jesús López, Chairman/CEO, Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula.
In his new role at UMG, Delgadillo will continue to oversee Universal Music Mexico, and will also add leadership of regional Mexican Label Fonovisa-Disa to his portfolio. He previously served as as Managing Director of Universal Music Mexico, a post he has held since 2017.
Delgadillo began his career at Universal Music Mexico in 1998 in a marketing role. In 2003, he joined EMI Music Mexico, where he rose through the ranks, with roles such as Marketing Director, Digital & New Business Director, Commercial and Music Services Director.
He rejoined UMG in 2013 as part of the label group’s acquisition of EMI and was promoted to Managing Director of Universal Music Mexico in 2017. During his tenure, he’s overseen the development of domestic talents including Mon Laferte and Caloncho, while contributing to the success in Mexico of international artists such as J. Balvin, Luis Fonsi, Juanes, David Bisbal, Gloria Trevi, Metallica, U2 and Taylor Swift.
