Giddy Up Music Festival Announces Sudden Cancellation

LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) – The first-ever Giddy Up Music Festival, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas from October 18-20, has been canceled. The festival, which was highly anticipated after being announced in June, was set to feature headliners like Megan Moroney, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Turnpike Troubadours, along with performances by Chase Rice, Elle King, Charles Wesley Godwin, Kameron Marlowe, and more.

On Friday (August 30), the festival’s organizers, LNE Presents—a SLC-based entertainment company—announced the cancellation via social media. The three-day event was supposed to occur at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.

In a heartfelt message, the organizers expressed their deep regret but did not provide a specific reason for the cancellation. “To our Giddy Up crew, there’s nothing we would love more than to ride through the festival gates with you this October, but unfortunately, we can no longer move forward with Giddy Up Las Vegas Music Festival 2024,” the post read.

Ticket holders who bought tickets directly through Giddy Up or its official partners will receive refunds within 7-10 business days. The organizers thanked fans for their support and advised them to direct questions to the festival’s email.

In a notable move, all previous announcements and information about the festival have been removed from social media and the official website.

The Giddy Up Music Festival was set to be a significant event for Las Vegas, marking the first country music festival in the city since the tragic Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in 2017. That devastating event, where a gunman opened fire on festival-goers, resulted in the deadliest mass shooting in US history, with 61 deaths and over 400 people injured.

The festival’s cancellation adds to a growing list of country music festivals that have been called off recently, including the Kickoff Jam, which was set to feature Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, and Alabama and Louisiana’s Country Kickoff, which would have showcased Eric Church, Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde, and Thomas Rhett. Both events were scheduled for Labor Day weekend but were canceled.
