PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) — Ween, the eclectic experimental rock band, announced the cancellation of all upcoming shows as the band “steps away” from touring for the foreseeable future.
In a statement announcing the decision shared on social media, a spokeperson said:
“It is with sincere regret and heavy hearts tha Ween must make the decision to step away from the stage for the foreseeable future. This includes next month’s sold-out Chocolate and Cheese 30th Anniversary show at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia.”
“Despite three great shows this summer, it is becoming clear that touring and performing is just too taxing on Deaner’s mental health to continue. As always, we thank you for your the love, dedication and ongoing support – Ween.”
The news of the hiatus from touring follows the cancellation of multiple shows this summer without explanation as well as a the cancellation of a tour earlier this year.
In canceling the spring tour, Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo cited a need to “preserve his mental health and spiritual well-being.”
