LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) — Music legend Sir Rod Stewart canceled the final performance of his long-standing residency Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday.

Stewart canceled the show, which would have been his 200th performance of the residency, citing illness.

“I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me,” the music icon shared via social media on Thursday.

The show, scheduled for August 7th, was intended as the capstone to Stewart’s residency at Caesars Palace, which is now in its 13th year.

Fortunately, for fans, Stewart announced that he will be returning to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2025 with a new residency, called the Encore Shows that will Stewart revisiting his biggest hits along with swing, deep cuts, and “surprises” from the songbook.

“I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully, we’ll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you there,” he added.
