ATLANTA, GA (CelebrityAccess) – Tickets for Good today announced that Don Orris has been appointed President of the company’s North American Business Operations and expansion.
Orris has over 20 years of experience in the live event and ticketing industries. He served as Executive Vice President of Ticketmaster, where he directed the largest and most profitable of six North American regions, consisting of the Western US, including Hawaii. In this capacity, he also led 15 direct reports, including 9 general managers, 6 regional directors and 250 indirect reports, overseeing 13 markets and 17 million tickets.
Before joining Tickets for Good North America, Orris operated as an independent consultant to various entertainment firms and represented organizations at trade shows and industry conferences such as the Billboard Touring Conference, the International Entertainment Buyers Association, INTIX and Pollstar Live!, servicing clients in Los Angeles, New York, Montreal and London.
“We chose Don for his immense level of experience in the ticketing industry,” says Steve Rimmer, CEO and Founder of Tickets for Good. “But there was much more to it for us. It is rare to find someone with decades of experience with the biggest ticketing retailers in the world who also heavily values social impact and doing good in the community simultaneously.”
“I was introduced to Steve and his business partner Neville through their participation in the Comcast NBCUniversal SportsTech Accelerator program. I was impressed by their passion and dedication around getting tickets into the hands of people deserving of something good in their lives,” explains Mr. Orris. “I saw the opportunity to not only help them fulfill the goal of distributing tickets but also to use my relationships with major event promoters and professional sports organizations to further their mission in North America. I’m tremendously excited to join Tickets for Good and do something more philanthropic than anything I’ve ever done.”
In this new role, Orris will lead the North American expansion, including Canada, and oversee the market as part of the Tickets for Good global team. Mr. Rimmer continues, “This is a huge feather in the cap towards our global expansion after starting in the United Kingdom in Sheffield, England and expanding to Atlanta in the spring of 2023. We hope that with Don’s leadership, we will continue our rapid growth even faster and be able to support the tier-one clients we are talking to every day across the events markets in live music, theatre, and sports while working with the biggest ticketing retailers in the world as our partners.” Mr. Orris’ new position also includes managing client relationships and significant accounts, contract negotiations, and overall growth in the US market.
