NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Madison Square Garden Entertainment announced plans to mark the final performance of Billy Joel’s record-breaking 150-show residency at The Garden on July 25th with a series of events, including custom merch pop-up and exhibits.

Joel is scheduled to bring his residency at MSG to a close on July 25th, putting the cap on a relationship that began almost 50 years ago when he first took the stage at the iconic New York arena.

The residency was announced in 2013 as Joel was named the Garden’s first-ever music franchise, alongside sports teams the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, but officially kicked off in January 2014. Since then, Joel has performed once a month at the arena, promising to do so as long as there was demand.

During his tenure at the arena, he set multiple records, including his own “most consecutive performances by any artist” in 2015 and “most lifetime performances by any artist.”

As part of the final performance, fans in attendance will have access to a variety of custom offerings including: “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” themed concessions, which will serve a custom menu of Italian specialties such as chicken vodka parm heroes, and cannoli.

Additionally, the sixth floor of the concourse will host a “Defining Moments” exhibit that will feature memorabilia from the arena’s history, including Joel’s residency, along with other highlights such as the “The Fight of the Century” between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, the New York Knicks’ first championship win, and “12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief.”

The Garden will also host Billy Joel 150, a pop-up retail location in Chase Square that will have a variety of custom merch, including an embroidered varsity jacket, t-shirts, posters, screen prints, hats, tote bags, and mugs. A ticket is not needed to access the merch pop-up in Chase Square.
