NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) – MNRK (pronounced Monarch) Music Group has announced the resignation of its president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chris Taylor, effective June 28. Taylor will also be taking the artist management division with him. Sean Stevenson, the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), will be stepping into the lead position, who will take over on July 1.
“We wish Chris the best in his future endeavors,” Stevenson said. “He’s been a great leader and partner over the years, and I look forward to continuing the growth of MNRK with the whole team.”
Stevenson, who joined MNRK in 2018 as Executive Vice President (EVP) and General Manager (GM), brings 23 years of experience in marketing and public relations. His career includes leading strategies and campaigns for big brands like Coca-Cola, EMI, MTV, Nike, Samsung, Universal, and Warner Bros.
Taylor joined the company in 2016 to head the music division of Entertainment One (eOne). He played a crucial role in the company’s strategy, including its $4 billion sale to Hasbro in 2020. Following Hasbro’s sale of the music division to Blackstone for $385 million in 2021, the company was rebranded as MNRK Music Group.
During Taylor’s tenure, MNRK celebrated multiple No. 1 records and Grammy Awards with artists like The Lumineers, Pop Evil, Jonathan McReynolds, and High on Fire. The exact reasons for Taylor’s resignation remain undisclosed, but MNRK has reaffirmed its commitment to discovering and supporting top music creators and artists. The company will also continue distributing Dualtone Music Group and Last Gang music companies.
As one of the largest independent music companies globally, MNRK operates recording and music publishing divisions in all major music markets. Their extensive catalog includes 54,000 music tracks, featuring numerous Grammy winners and platinum-selling hits.
